Collection: Finnish

Finnish is a unique language from Northern Europe. It's mainly spoken in Finland. Unlike many European languages, it doesn't come from the Latin or Germanic families. Instead, it's part of the Uralic family, which includes languages from parts of Russia and Hungary. Today, about 5 million people speak Finnish, mostly in Finland. There are some speakers in Sweden and Russia too. The closest language to Finnish is Estonian, spoken in Estonia. They share many words and grammar rules. If you learn Finnish, understanding Estonian is a bit easier.
